Understanding Schools

Schoolworks uses a ‘School’ assignment (lookup) across the following objects:

• Student

• Enrolment

  • Booking

• Class

• Timetable Time

• Finance Journal

School can be used to separate business lines (e.g. General English, Young Learners) or geographical locations (e.g. London School, Dublin School), or a combination of either.

Services are assigned a School using the Service → School tab.

This means a Service can be shared across one of more Schools.

Data considerations

When a booking is made (via the Enrolment screen) the Booking (and Finance) will inherit the ‘School’ based on this rule:

• If the Service being Booked has a Service School which matches the Enrolment School

  • Booking School = Enrolment School

• If the Service being Booked is selected using a different school to the Enrolment then

  • Booking School = School used in the Booking Service selector
