1 Beim Öffnen des siebten Siegels 2 werden sieben Engeln sieben Trompeten gegeben. 6 Vier von ihnen blasen ihre Trompeten und große Plagen folgen. 3 Ein weiterer Engel gibt Weihrauch zum Gebet der Heiligen auf den goldenen Altar.

CHAP. VIII.

1 At the opening of the seuenth seale, 2 seuen Angels had seuen Trumpets giuen them. 6 Foure of them sound their trumpets, and great plagues follow. 3 Another Angel putteth incense to the prayers of the Saints on the golden Altar.

¹ And when hee had opened the seuenth seale, there was silence in heauen about the space of halfe an houre.

² Und ich sah die sieben Engel, die vor Gott standen und ihnen wurden sieben Trompeten gegeben.

² And I sawe the seuen Angels which stood before God, and to them were giuen seuen trumpets.

³ Und ein weiterer Engel kam und stand am Altar, ein goldenes Weihrauchgefäß haltend und ihm wurde viel Weihrauch gegeben, damit er ihn auf dem goldenen Altar, der vor dem Thron war, zum Gebet der Heiligen ||opfern sollte.[||oder: zu den Gebeten hinzugeben sollte]

³ And another Angel came & stood at the altar, hauing a golden censer, and there was giuen vnto him much incense, that hee should ||offer it with the prayers of all Saints vpon the golden altar which was before the throne.[||Or, adde it to the prayers.]

⁴ Und der Rauch des Weihrauchs, der mit den Gebeten der Heiligen kam, stieg vor Gott aus der Hand des Engels auf.

⁴ And the smoke of the incense which came with the prayers of the Saints, ascended vp before God, out of the Angels hand.

⁵ Und der Engel nahm das Weihrauchgefäß und füllte es mit Feuer des Altars und warf es auf die Erde: Und da waren Stimmen und Donner und Blitze und ein Erdbeben.

⁵ And the Angel tooke the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voyces, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake:

⁶ Und die sieben Engel, welche die sieben Trompeten hatten, machten sich bereit zu blasen.

⁶ And the seuen Angels which had the seuen trumpets, prepared themselues to sound.

⁷ Der erste Engel blies und ihm folgte Hagel und Feuer, gemischt mit Blut und sie wurden auf die Erde geworfen und ein Drittel der Bäume verbrannte und alles grüne Gras verbrannte.

⁷ The first Angel sounded, and there followed haile, and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast vpon the earth, and the third part of trees was burnt vp, and all greene grasse was burnt vp.

⁸ Und der zweite Engel blies und es war, als wenn ein großer, mit Feuer brennender Berg in die See geworfen würde und ein Drittel der See wurde Blut.

⁸ And the second Angel sounded, and as it were a great mountaine burning with fire was cast into the sea, and the third part of the sea became blood.

⁹ Und ein Drittel aller Kreaturen, die in der See waren und in denen Leben war, starben und ein Drittel der Schiffe wurde zerstört.

⁹ And the thirde part of the creatures which were in the Sea, and had life, died, and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

¹⁰ Und der dritte Engel blies und da fiel ein großer Stern vom Himmel, der wie eine Lampe brannte und fiel auf ein Drittel der Flüsse und Wasserquellen.

¹⁰ And the third Angel sounded, and there fell a great starre from heauen, burning as it were a lampe, and it fell vpon the third part of the riuers, and vpon the fountaines of waters:

¹¹ Und der Name des Sterns war Absinth und ein Drittel des Wassers wurde Absinth und viele Menschen starben von dem Wasser, weil es bitter gemacht worden war.

¹¹ And the name of the starre is called Wormewood, and the third part of the waters became wormewood, and many men dyed of the waters, because they were made bitter.

¹² Und der vierte Engel blies und ein Drittel der Sonne wurde befallen und ein Drittel des Mondes und ein Drittel der Sterne, als würde ein Drittel davon verdunkelt: Und der Tag erstrahlte nicht zu einem Drittel und die Nacht ebenso.

¹² And the fourth Angel sounded, and the thirde part of the Sunne was smitten, & the third part of the Moone, and the third part of the starres, so as the third part of them was darkened: and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

¹³ Und ich sah und hörte einen Engel mitten durch den Himmel fliegen, der mit lauter Stimme sagte “Wehe, wehe, wehe den Bewohnern der Erde, angesichts der Klänge der Trompeten der anderen drei Engel, die bisher nicht geblasen haben.“

¹³ And I beheld, and heard an Angel flying through the midst of heauen, saying with a loude voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth, by reason of the other voyces of the trumpet of the three Angels which are yet to sound.
