1 Durch das ewige Priestertum von Christus ist das levitische Priestertum Aarons aufgehoben. 7 Und der zeitweilige Bundesschluss mit den Vätern, durch den ewigen Bundesschluss des Evangeliums.

CHAP. VIII.

1 By the eternall Priesthood of Christ, the Leuiticall Priesthood of Aaron is abolished. 7 And the temporall Couenant with the Fathers, by the eternal Couenant of the Gospel.

¹ Now of the things which we haue spoken, this is the summe: wee haue such an high Priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Maiestie in the heauens:

² Ein Diener ||des Heiligtums und des wahren Tabernakels, welches der Herr errichtete und nicht Menschen.[||oder: heiliger Dinge]

² A minister ||of the Sanctuary, and of the true Tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.[||Or, of holy things.]

³ Denn jeder Hohepriester ist bestimmt, Gaben und Opfer zu opfern: Weshalb es notwendig ist, dass auch dieser Mann etwas zu opfern hat.

³ For euery high Priest is ordeined to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessitie that this man haue somewhat also to offer.

⁴ Denn wenn er auf Erden wäre, sollte er kein Priester sein, sehend, dass ||da Priester sind, die Gaben gemäß dem Gesetz opfern:[||oder: sie sind Priester]

⁴ For if he were on earth, he should not bee a Priest, seeing that || there are Priests that offer gifts according to the Law:[||Or, they are Priests.]

⁵ Welche nach dem Beispiel und Schatten himmlischer Dinge dienen, wie Moses von Gott ermahnt wurde, als er im Begriff war das Tabernakel zu errichten. "Denn siehe (sagt er), dass Du alle Dinge gemäß dem Muster, dir auf dem Berg gezeigt, machst.

⁵ Who serue vnto the example and shadow of heauenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the Tabernacle. For see (saith he) that thou make all things according to the paterne shewed to thee in the mount.

⁶ Aber nun hat er ein viel vortrefflicheres Amt erhalten, durch welches er der Mediator eines besseren ||Bundeschlusses ist, welcher auf besseren Verheißungen errichtet wurde.[||oder: Testament]

⁶ But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministerie, by how much also he is the Mediatour of a better || Couenant, which was established vpon better promises.[||Or, Testament.]

⁷ Denn wenn dieser erste Bundesschluss fehlerlos gewesen wäre, dann hätte kein Platz für den zweiten gesucht werden sollen.

⁷ For if that first Couenant had bene faultles, then should no place haue bene sought for the second.

⁸ Denn sie kritisierend sagte er "Seht, die Tage kommen (sagt der Herr) wenn ich einen neuen Bundesschluss mit dem Haus Israels machen will und dem Haus Juda.

⁸ For finding fault with them, hee saith, Behold, the dayes come (saith the Lord) when I will make a new couenant with the house of Israel, and the house of Iudah.

⁹ Nicht gemäß dem Bundesschluss, den ich mit ihren Vätern machte, an dem Tag, als ich sie bei der Hand nahm, sie aus dem Land Ägypten zu führen, weil sie nicht in meinem Bundesschluss fortfuhren und ich schätzte sie nicht" sagt der Herr.

⁹ Not according to the Couenant that I made with their fathers, in the day when I tooke them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, because they continued not in my Couenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

¹⁰ "Denn dies ist der Bundesschluss, den ich mit dem Haus Israel nach jenen Tagen machen will" sagt der Herr: "^*Ich will ⁺meine Gesetze in ihren Verstand geben und sie ihnen ||in ihre Herzen schreiben: Und ich will ihnen ein Gott sein und sie werden mir ein Volk sein."[*Jeremia, +Griechisch: geben ||oder: auf]

¹⁰ For this is the Couenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those dayes, saith the Lord: ⁺I wil ⁺put my Lawes into their minde, and write them || in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shalbe to me a people.[^*Ier.31. 33., ⁺Gr. giue. ,||Or, vpon.]

¹¹ Und sie werden nicht jedermanns Nachbarn lehren und jedermanns Bruder, und sagen 'Erkenne den Herrn': Denn alle werden mich kennen, vom Kleinsten zum Größten.

¹¹ And they shall not teach euery man his neighbour, and euery man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: For all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

¹² Denn ich will erbarmungsvoll sein ob ihrer Unredlichkeit und ihrer Sünden und Schwächen will ich nicht mehr gedenken."

¹² For I will be mercifull to their vnrighteousnes, and their sins & their iniquities will I remember no more.

¹³ Indem er sagt "Ein neuer Bundesschluss" machte er den ersten alt. Nun, das, was verfällt und alt wird, ist bereit zu verschwinden.

¹³ In that he saith, A new Couenant, he hath made the first olde. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old, is readie to vanish away.
