CALCULATION
The Calculation page of 4C Supply is where users can configure and launch forecasts. Forecasts can only be run when a specification has first been interpreted. It is important to understand both how the configuration settings will impact your forecast, and how the forecast calculation is performed.
The Forecast Configuration page describes how to configure forecasts.
The Forecast Calculation Logic page explains how the forecast calculation works.
The forecast calculation is launched by clicking Run Forecast. This sends a command to the server to launch a forecast calculation, from which log messages are continuously sent to the user interface.
It can be attempted to abort a running forecast by clicking Abort Forecast. This sends an abort command to the server which tries to stop the running forecast. If this is successful, the forecast data generated so far is deleted and the control is returned to the user interface.
Note: If aborting the forecast fails, the popup message ‘Aborting Forecast’ will continue to be displayed and the logs will not populate further, but the forecast will continue running on the server. In this case, users can refresh the page, which will make the popup disappear and cause the logs to populate again.
