Important update on task synchronization via Microsoft Graph

After receiving only occasional reports of problems with maiConnect task synchronization, none of which we were unfortunately able to reproduce internally or identify in our log entries, we now have an explanation for the problem and the following update for you:

Microsoft has made a change to the subscription system for Microsoft Graph, which is being rolled out gradually. As a result of this change, maiConnect is no longer able to create a subscription for changes to tasks via Microsoft Graph. Microsoft's documentation can be found at:

The concrete impact for us and our customers is, that, as things stand at present, real-time synchronization of tasks using Microsoft Graph will no longer be possible in the long term. As the restriction marked in the screenshot will only be enforced gradually, as indicated above (which we were only able to find out via Microsoft support requests), it may still work for individual customers for a certain transition period – but will no longer be possible in the medium term.

Unfortunately, as we were equally surprised by the change, we do not yet have a solution to the problem. We are currently looking into a few alternatives that may be used to circumvent or mitigate this restriction. At this point, however, we cannot say exactly what the adjustment on our side will look like, whether it will be a real solution or rather a workaround, and when it will be ready. As soon as we can say more, we will of course provide an update.

Wichtiges Update zur Synchronisation von Aufgaben über Microsoft Graph

Nachdem es erst nur vereinzelte Meldungen zu Problemen mit der maiConnect Aufgaben-Synchronisation gab, die sich allesamt bei uns intern leider weder nachstellen ließen, noch anhand von Log-Einträgen sichtbar waren, haben wir nun eine Erklärung für das Problem und folgendes Update für Sie:

Microsoft hat eine Änderung am Subskription System für Microsoft Graph vorgenommen, die nach und nach ausgerollt wird. Durch diese Änderung ist es maiConnect über Microsft Graph nicht mehr möglich, eine Subskription für Änderungen an Aufgaben anzulegen. Die Dokumentation von Microsoft findet sich unter:

Konkret bedeutet das für uns und unsere Kunden: Nach aktuellem Stand wird eine Echtzeit-Synchronisation von Aufgaben bei Verwendung von Microsoft Graph langfristig nicht mehr möglich sein. Da die im Screenshot markierte Restriktion wie oben angedeutet erst nach und nach durchgesetzt wird, was wir auch erst über Support-Anfragen bei Microsoft herausfinden konnten, kann es für einen gewissen Übergangszeitraum bei einzelnen Kunden noch funktionieren - wird aber mittelfristig schon nicht mehr möglich sein.

Da wir bei diesem Thema leider vor vollendete Tatsachen gestellt und von der Anpassung ebenso überrascht wurden, haben wir leider noch keine Lösung für das Problem parat. Wir prüfen aktuell ein paar Alternativen, die sich vielleicht nutzen lassen, um diese Einschränkung zu umgehen oder abzumildern. Stand jetzt können wir aber noch keine Aussage darüber treffen, wie genau die Anpassung auf unserer Seite aussehen wird, ob es eine wirkliche Lösung oder eher ein Workaround sein wird und wann sie bereit steht. Sobald wir mehr dazu sagen können, melden wir uns selbstverständlich mit einem Update.

[ B ] BUG: S4>GW Appointment notes not synchronized (MS Graph) [MCS4-389]

In some cases, an error could prevent notes for an appointment from being synchronized from S4 to Outlook. We have fixed this error.

Ein Fehler konnte in einzelnen Fällen dafür sorgen, dass die Notizen eines Termins von S4 in Richtung Outlook nicht synchronisiert wurden. Diesen Fehler haben wir behoben.

[ B ] BUG: S4>GW Full day appointments not synchronized [MCS4-404]

Due to an error, full day appointments from the S4 system were not synchronized to Outlook. The problem has been resolved with this release.

[ B ] BUG: S4>GW Ganztägige Termine werden nicht synchronisiert [MCS4-404]

Aufgrund eines Fehlers wurden ganztägige Termine aus dem S4 System nicht in Richtung Outlook synchronisiert. Das Problem wurde mit diesem Release gelöst.

[ B ] BUG: Timezone Issues [MCS4-402]

Over the past few weeks, we have observed some issues that prevented time zone information from being read correctly for appointments and tasks, which in turn caused synchronization errors.

These issues have now been resolved with release 2509.

[ B ] BUG: Zeitzonen Probleme [MCS4-402]

Wir haben im Verlauf der letzten Wochen einige Probleme beobachtet, aufgrund derer die Zeitzonen-Informationen bei Terminen und Aufgaben nicht korrekt ausgelesen werden konnten - was in der Folge dann für Fehler bei der Synchronisation gesorgt hat.

Mit Release 2509 sind diese Probleme nun behoben.

General improvements and bug fixes

Some other minor bugs have been fixed and improvements introduced to increase the stability and performance of maiConnect.
