Trial Supply Projection
Overview
The Trial Supply Projection report shows the development of different inventory indicators over time. This report displays average values only. The ‘Select Network Level’ dropdown determines which data to display, the default is a combined view of depot-level information.
Example
Report Selectors
Depot: Displays the development of inventory indicators at depots.
Site Group: Displays the development of inventory indicators at site groups.
Actual Site: Displays the development of inventory indicators at actual sites.
Average Site: Displays the development of inventory indicators at an average site. An average site is calculated from the total forecasted sites in the selected site group(s).
Note: By default, data is reported in a combined view. Use the relevant filter to select the data required.
Fields and Filters
Dispensing Unit
Defines the dispensing unit(s) for which inventory indicators are shown. By default, stacked data for all dispensing units are shown in the report. Therefore, it often makes sense to filter for a specific dispensing unit.
Label Group
Defines the label group that inventory is assigned to. By default, all label groups are shown. Therefore, it often makes sense to filter for a specific label group.
Shown when the report selector is Depot only.
Quantity
Reports the number of kits (dispensing units) for each inventory indicator. The sum of quantity is reported for each period by default.
Time
Defines the periods for which inventory indicators are shown. The size of periods is determined by the interval for enrollment and demand value selected in the forecast configuration. The periods are displayed as rows in the trial supply projection report and:
start with the earliest period with data for forecasts run without RTSM extract data.
start with the RTSM extract date for forecasts run with RTSM extract data.
Type
Defines which inventory indicators are shown (see section below).
Depot
Determines which depot(s) data is reported.
Only shown when ‘Depot’ is selected as the network level.
Data is combined by default. Use the filter to limit the report to the required data.
Region
Determines which region(s) data is reported.
Only shown when ‘Region’ is selected as the network level.
Data is combined by default. Use the filter to limit the report to the required data.
Site Group
Determines which site group(s) data is shown in the report.
Only shown when ‘Site Group' is selected as the network level.
Data is combined by default. Use the filter to limit the report to the required data.
Actual Site
Determines which actual site data is reported.
Only shown when ‘Actual Site' is selected as the network level.
Inventory Indicators
Inventory indicators are the types of inventory data that are shown. The ‘Type’ field is used to select which of these are displayed.
Supplies
Supplies are kits arriving at a location in a period:
For depots that are root nodes (i.e. packaging facilities), supplies are released in batches as shown in the production plan.
For depots that are not root nodes, supplies are arriving depot supply shipments.
For sites, supplies are arriving on site shipments.
Inventory
Inventory is the total number of kits available at a location. Inventory is considered available until it expires.
Inventory = inventory in the previous period + supplies - demand - expiries.
Demand
Demand is the total number of kits leaving a location in a period:
For depots, demand is inventory leaving in depot transfers and site shipments.
For sites, demand is inventory allocated to patients.
Expiries
Expiries are the total number of kits reaching the expiry date in a period. Expiries are shown in the period they occur (i.e., without offsets such as DNS or DNC).
Buffer
Buffer is the total number of kits required to be available at a location in a period. If the inventory level in a period is less than the buffer level, a resupply shipment is generated. Buffer is computed based on the demand forecasted for one site shipment lead time, within the probability specified in the buffer confidence level.
Note on inventory calculations:
Inventory is computed to satisfy the buffer.
Supply is computed to satisfy the inventory.
Production is computed to satisfy the supply.
The proposed production schedule satisfies the buffer.
Buffer is computed based on the demand forecasted over one site shipment lead time within the probability specified in the buffer confidence level.
RTSM Data Extracts
In forecast calculations with RTSM data extracts, the trial supply projection begins with the period containing the RTSM extract date and starting inventories according to the RTSM extract data.
