Planned Lots
Introduction
Planned lots can be specified in the SMART Editor so they are considered in the forecast calculation. Planned lots can be specified with or without kit quantities. If specified without kit quantities, they function as production slot specifications and 4C Supply® will compute the appropriate kit quantities.
Existing lots and planned lots are be used preferentially to cover demand.
By setting planned lots only to true in the production settings for a dispensing unit, the user can specify that no production slots other than those specified in the existing and planned lots table should be planned.

In RED are Mandatory Attributes
Lot number
The Lot Number is a mandatory entry. If no value is entered an error is shown.
Dispensing unit code
Each Planned Lot must also contain a valid dispensing unit code (from the Dispensing Units Table). If an invalid entry is made, an error message is shown.
Label group
Defines the label group associated with a planned lot. Must match a label group code specified in the Label Groups Table. This is an optional entry and can be ignored if label groups are not being used in the specification.
Release date
Defines the release date of an existing or planned lot. Release Date is a mandatory entry and must be a valid date. If no value is entered, an error message is shown.
All kit types in single blinding group should have planned lots released at the same time. If a kit type has no planned lots released when other dispensing units in the same blinding group have a planned lot release, a warning with the following message is shown:
Potential Unblinding Risk: Dispensing Unit [dispensing unit] has no planned lots released on [release date] like other dispensing units in blinding group [blinding group].
The release date of a planned lot is the date where the forecast will add the corresponding kits to the release location inventory.
In forecast calculations with RTSM data extract, specified planned lots with release date before the RTSM extract date will appear in the lots input screen, but will not be considered in the forecast calculation and a corresponding info message will appear in the forecast calculation:
The following lots haven’t been accounted for as their release date is before the extract date. Hence they are assumed to already be found in the system data: [lot identifier(s)]
Expiry date
Defines the expiry date of an existing or planned lot. Expiry Date is a mandatory entry and must use a valid date. If no value is entered, an error message is shown.
Planned lots for kits types the same blinding group and with the same release date should have the same expiry date.
If planned lots for kit types from the same blinding group and with the same release date don’t have the same expiry date, a warning message is shown.
Release location
Defines where the lot is released. Release Location is a mandatory entry.
The Release Location must be a valid depot code defined in the depots table and must be a root node.
If no value is entered, no error will be raised, but the lots input screen will not populate.
Available quantity
Defines the quantity of kits in an existing or planned lot that are available for use in the forecast. Quantity must be a positive integer.
If no available quantity is specified, 4C Supply® will compute a suitable quantity in the forecast calculation.
In order to use this feature, the Planned Lots Only column in the Production Settings Table must be set to TRUE.
If an invalid entry is made, no error is shown, but the entry is ignored.
In forecast calculations with RTSM data extract, where planned lots coincide with real lots from the extract, the real lots will override the planned lot quantities.
