Introduction
Shipment types can be used to define different types of shipment (e.g. ambient, cold chain) and associated cost parameters.

Master Data
Definition
Defines master data to be used for a given row.
Rules
An active, valid MD item description must be entered in order for master data to be loaded and interpreted. See Master Data Rules.
Notes
See Shipment Type Costs Master Data.
Shipment type code
Definition
Defines the code for a shipment type for use in other tables.
Depot
Definition
Defines the depot for which a shipment type specification applies.
Rules
Must be a valid depot code as specified in the depots table. If an invalid entry is made, no error is raised, the value is ignored and 4C Supply® assumes that the shipment type specification applies to all depots.
If no value is specified, 4C Supply® assumes that the shipment type specification applies to all depots.
Notes
The depot code column allows the user to define customized costs per depot for a specific shipment type.
Region
Definition
Defines the region for which a shipment type specification applies.
Rules
Must be a valid region code specified in the network table. If an invalid entry is made, no error is raised, the value is ignored and 4C Supply® assumes that the shipment type specification applies to all regions.
If no value is specified, 4C Supply® assumes that the shipment type specification applies to all regions.
Notes
The region code column allows the user to define customized costs per region for a specific shipment type.
Cost per shipment to depot
Definition
Defines the cost of a shipment to the specified depot.
Rules
Must be an integer. If an invalid entry is made, no error is shown, but the value is ignored.
Must be a single integer. If an invalid entry is made, a warning with the following message is shown:
More than one positive float found but only one was expected, '[first value specified]' will be used.
Notes
Cost parameters are not included in RTSM specifications and can/need therefore not be matched in forecasts with RTSM data extracts.
Cost per shipment to site
Definition
Defines the cost of a shipment to site in the specified region.
Emission per Shipment to Depot
The Shipment Emission is an optional field that can be used to specify the emissions associated with depot shipment types. Because sponsors may have different requirements for the unit, there is no unit prescribed by the system. When viewed in the forecast output, it is given as a CO2 value.
Note: If the shipment emissions are defined in the Depot table but also defined in the Shipment Types table, a warning message will be displayed explaining that the Depot table value(s) will be used.
Emission per Shipment to Site
The Shipment Emission is an optional field that can be used to specify the emissions associated with site shipment types. Because sponsors may have different requirements for the unit, there is no unit prescribed by the system. When viewed in the forecast output, it is given as a CO2 value.
Note: If the shipment emissions are defined in the Network table but also defined in the Shipment Types table, a warning message will be displayed explaining that the Network table value(s) will be used.
