Minimal and Additional Site Safety Stock
Introduction
Site safety stocks (= site buffer) are the inventory level which, when reached, trigger a site resupply shipment. Site safety stocks are calculated dynamically for each period as: enrollment buffer and patient in treatment buffer. Forecast site buffers can be viewed in the Trial Supply Projection report using the Average Site or (if an RTSM Extract has been used in the forecast) the Actual Site view.
In addition, users can manually set site safety stock levels per dispensing unit and per site/site group in dedicated tables as minimal and additional buffer.
Refer to the forecast calculation documentation section site demand forecasting for more details on how site buffers are calculated.

Column Definitions
Dispensing Unit Code
Specifies which dispensing unit the minimal or additional safety stock setting applies to.
Must match an existing dispensing unit code as defined in dispensing units. If a non-valid dispensing unit code is entered, no interpretation error is shown, but the row will be ignored.
Additional Safety Stock
Specifies the quantity of additional safety stock defined for a dispensing unit.
Must be an integer. If a non-valid entry is made, no interpretation error is shown and the interpreted value is 0.
In forecast calculations with RTSM data extract, if additional stock is specified for a kit type in the RTSM, but not in 4C Supply®, then the forecast calculation may underestimate the associated additional demand.
In forecast calculations with RTSM data extract, If additional stock is specified for a dispensing unit in 4C Supply®, but not in the RTSM, then the forecast calculation may overestimate the associated additional demand.
Refer to the 4C Supply® Forecast Calculation Manual for more details on how safety stocks are calculated when additional safety stocks are defined.
Minimum Safety Stock
Alias: Minimal stock
Specifies the minimum safety stock defined for a dispensing unit.
Must be an integer. If a non-valid entry is made, no interpretation error is shown and the interpreted value is 0.
